Stone Tech worked in close partnership with the project’s lead architects and master builders to engineer, cut, and fit high-grade natural stone across the home’s open-plan kitchen, butler’s pantry, luxury wet areas, and custom architectural joinery. Technical Engineering & Digital Stone Mapping
Executing a seamless stone fit-out across multiple rooms requires far more than basic stonemasonry—it demands advanced digital surveying and 3D slab CAD mapping.
- 3D Laser Site Surveys: Prior to cutting any raw slabs at our Smithfield factory, our technicians performed high-precision 3D digital laser scans on-site in Bronte. This captured exact wall angles, plumbing positions, and structural tolerances to ensure a zero-clearance fit during final placement.
- Digital Vein Matching & Slab Flow: To create a continuous visual flow across the kitchen island waterfall edges and surrounding splashbacks, we digitally mapped each slab prior to cutting. This software-driven layout allowed our masons to align the natural veining patterns around 90-degree corners, creating the illusion of a single, solid block of stone.
- Structural Support Engineering: Large format natural stone slabs carry immense weight. Precision CNC Fabrication & Hand-Finishing
At Stone Tech’s Smithfield facility, state-of-the-art multi-axis CNC machinery was paired with traditional hand-finishing techniques:
- Seamless 45-Degree Mitred Edges: To give the kitchen island and vanity tops a substantial, thick-profile appearance, edges were precision-cut at 45 degrees, bonded with color-matched epoxy resins, and hand-polished until the join line was completely invisible.
- Custom Cutouts & Flush Features: Using waterjet cutting tools, we executed exact undermount sink cutouts with smooth internal edge polishing, drop-in cooktop recesses, and clean circular penetrations for wall-mounted tapware and flush-mounted electrical fittings.
On Site Logistics, Fitting, and Sealing in Bronte
